Fresh broccoli can deteriorate quickly after harvest due to it's high respiration and susceptibility to wilting and yellowing. However, the FC-BP Ultra-thin ExtendCast™ broccoli wrap was designed to protect the integrity of freshly harvested broccoli. The unique plastic composition reduces the broccoli's respiration rate and accumulation of CO2, which effectively prevents yellowing.

The plastic wrap also provides modified humidity properties which prevent dehydration and preserve broccoli firmness. The film has proven to compensate for temperature breach, ensuring the preservation of broccoli freshness even in sub-optimal storage conditions.

 

Iceberg Lettice: MAP Bags for Extended Shelf Life

Our FC-BP Ultra-thin ExtendCast™ series of film is engineered to maintain the freshness of iceberg lettuce. The modified atmosphere inside each bag keeps the leaves turgid, crisp, and juicy; qualities which customers demand.

We are proud to report that 15 days after packing, the lettuce freshness state has is still "as harvested". Leaves maintain their vivid natural white and green color with no wilting or discoloration.

Using the FC-BP Ultra thin ExtendCast™ film also demonstrably reduces waste by maintaining the integrity of the lettuce. This includes the loose leaves of a summer crop.

 

Cauliflower: Control Respiration Rate with Smart Packaging

Cauliflower's respiration rate is determined by the atmosphere around it. This is why high quality MAP bags are essential. The FC-BP Ultra-thin ExtendCast™ film ensures that Cauliflower freshness is preserved for an extended lifespan.

The packaging maintains cauliflower's firmness as well as it's signature white color. The controlled atmosphere inside the bag prevents dehydration and helps the cauliflower to maintain it's crisp texture.

Waste reduction is achieved by improving shelf life several fold verses unwrapped cauliflower in a grocery mister, and better than cauliflower packed in a standard polyethylene bag.
